For Creative agencies, photographers, freelancers

HoneyBook is $19 to $79 a month per seat. Own AgencyOS for $199 once.

Same client management, same proposals, same scheduling — but the code is yours, the database is yours, and you stop paying monthly seat fees the moment you onboard a contractor or expand your team.

Why operators leave HoneyBook

Six reasons that come up over and over.

The math, over time

HoneyBook pricing is $19-$79 per month, forever. AgencyOS is $199one time. Here's what that means at common operator lifetimes.

Time horizonHoneyBook (low — high)AgencyOSYou keep
1 year$228 — $948$199$29 — $749
3 years$684 — $2,844$199$485 — $2,645
5 years$1,140 — $4,740$199$941 — $4,541

Starter at $19, Essentials at $39, Premium at $79. Per-user above the seat caps. Proposals/contracts/scheduling all included on the higher tiers; lower tiers gate features and add per-transaction fees. You pay your own hosting (Supabase free tier covers most small operators) + Stripe's standard 2.9% + 30c on payments. No platform middleman fees.

Feature parity, line by line

Every capability you rely on, mapped against what each side ships. HoneyBook as of mid-2026 published pricing tiers; verify against your specific plan.

What's actually different

Feature parity is table stakes. The real shift is ownership.

Your client portal is yours

Remove the HoneyBook chrome. Your branding, your colors, your domain. Your clients see your name, not the vendor that powers your operations.

No per-seat penalty for growth

Adding a junior designer doesn't bump you to a higher plan. Your software cost is fixed at the kit purchase; your variable costs scale with usage, not headcount.

Real workflow control

Want a proposal to auto-generate a project on approval? It does. Want client comments on a proposal to ping you in Slack? Build that webhook. The Bridge system means modules talk to each other on your terms.

Stripe goes direct to you

No HoneyBook-style middleman fee on top of Stripe's. Your buyers pay your Stripe account directly; you get every dollar minus Stripe's standard 2.9% + 30c.

How switching works

Most operators take 2-3 weeks end to end. We handle the data migration; you handle the customer-facing brand polish.

  1. 1

    Export from HoneyBook

HoneyBook exports clients, projects, and invoices via their data export tool. Some fields don't export cleanly (custom fields on older accounts); flag these for manual reconciliation during migration.

  2. 2

    Buy AgencyOS + Migration Setup

Migration Setup ($499 one-time) handles client + project + invoice import, custom field mapping, proposal template port-over, and end-to-end smoke test. 5-7 business days.

  3. 3

    Brand your client-facing surfaces

Replace the default homepage with your portfolio + service descriptions. Customize the proposal template to match your existing PDF aesthetic. Point your domain (or a subdomain) at the AgencyOS deploy.

  4. 4

    Run parallel for two weeks

Most agencies have month-long project cycles, so two weeks of overlap is safer than one. Send new proposals through AgencyOS; let in-flight HoneyBook proposals complete on HoneyBook. After clean turnover, cancel HoneyBook.

Questions we hear

My clients are used to the HoneyBook portal. Will they hate this?+

No — they'll like it more. Your portal under your brand looks more professional than a third-party SaaS UI. The functionality is the same (view project, sign contracts, pay invoice). Anecdotally, clients trust portals on the vendor's own domain more than third-party SaaS portals.

What about my proposal templates?+

Migration Setup ports them over. The Estimates module supports sections, scope, timeline, pricing tables, optional add-ons — all the structure HoneyBook proposals carry. E-signature is included; we use a built-in canvas signature, not a third-party service.

What does it cost ongoing?+

AgencyOS is $199 one-time. Recurring: Supabase ($0-25/mo), Vercel ($0-20/mo), Resend ($0-20/mo), Stripe (only the standard 2.9% + 30c per payment). Total: typically $0-65/mo vs HoneyBook's $19-79 per seat. Solo operators often run on $0/mo using free tiers everywhere.

I need contracts that hold up legally+

AgencyOS's Estimates module includes timestamp + IP capture + canvas signature recording. This is the same evidence pattern HoneyBook and DocuSign use. For higher-stakes contracts (real estate, M&A), pair with a dedicated e-sign service via the Bridge system.

Can I keep working in HoneyBook during transition?+

Yes — that's the recommended two-week parallel run. Existing projects finish on HoneyBook; new ones start in AgencyOS. Clear cutover, no data race conditions.

I freelance — is this overkill?+

If you're billing under $30k/year total, HoneyBook Starter ($19/mo) is fine. AgencyOS becomes the better economic deal once you're at $40k+/year or planning to grow into an agency. For solo operators who want full ownership now, $199 once is also reasonable peace of mind.

Own your operations.

AgencyOS ships with for agencies, consultants, and freelancers. One purchase, no per-seat fees, full source ownership.
