Terms of Service
The rules of buying, using, and customizing LaunchKits. By creating an account or completing a purchase, you agree to these terms.
Last updated April 26, 2026
1. Who we are
LaunchKits ("LaunchKits", "we", "us") is a hosted marketplace and build studio for composable business operations software. We sell two types of things: code (industry packages and individual modules that you download, own, and self-host) and services (LaunchKits Pro for ongoing updates, the AI Add-on for natural-language reporting, and a custom build service for bespoke assemblies). These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of launchkits.dev (the "Hub"), the Website Builder, our APIs, the code we deliver, and any related services (collectively, the "Service").
2. Eligibility
LaunchKits is sold for commercial use. By creating an account or completing a purchase you confirm that you are using the Service for a business or commercial purpose, that you have the legal capacity to enter binding contracts in your jurisdiction, and that any obligations created by your use of the Service are valid and enforceable against you.
If you are using LaunchKits on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms, and "you" refers to both you individually and that organization. If your jurisdiction requires a written contract, a tax ID, or any other formal step before a commercial purchase can take effect, you are responsible for completing those steps before treating any purchase as final.
3. Your account
Sign-in is magic-link only. Anyone with access to your email inbox can request a sign-in link, so keep your email account secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at security@launchkits.dev if you suspect unauthorized access.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, the Acceptable Use Policy, or applicable law, with or without notice depending on the severity of the violation. We will use reasonable efforts to give advance notice when the violation does not require immediate action.
4. What you are buying
When you buy a Kit (an industry package such as AgencyOS, ServicePro, or StudioKit) or an individual module (such as Invoicing, CRM, or Booking), you receive an invitation to a private GitHub repository that contains the source code, schema, and documentation for what you bought. You accept the invitation, the repository transfers to your control, and the code is yours to use, modify, deploy, and operate on your own infrastructure.
The license you receive with a paid Kit or module is a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use, modify, and deploy the code for your own commercial projects, including projects you build for paying clients. You may not resell, redistribute, sublicense, or repackage the LaunchKits source code as a competing product or as part of a marketplace, asset library, or boilerplate offering.
The free cores (LaunchKits Core, LaunchKits Site, LaunchKits Connect) and the free snippets are released under the MIT license. Their license file is the source of truth for those repositories and overrides the paragraph above where they conflict.
Code you download, fork, or generate through the Website Builder Export tab is yours under the same paid-Kit license, regardless of whether you have a Pro or AI Add-on subscription.
5. The Service
The Hub, the Website Builder, the marketplace, our API, the GitHub delivery pipeline, and any web-facing tools we operate constitute the Service. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. We do not guarantee that any specific feature will remain available indefinitely; we may change, deprecate, or remove Hub features as the product evolves. Code you have already downloaded or had delivered to your GitHub account is unaffected by Hub-side changes; once it is in your repository, it is yours.
The Website Builder Export tab generates code based on the configuration you assemble. You are responsible for reviewing, testing, and customizing exported code before deploying it. We do not warrant that exported code is free of bugs, fit for any particular purpose, or compliant with regulations specific to your industry or jurisdiction.
6. AI features
The AI Idea Finder on the homepage and the AI Recommendation panel in the Website Builder are powered by third-party language models. When you use these features, the short text you type is transmitted to the model provider for processing. The output is a suggestion, not advice. Suggested kits, modules, and configurations are starting points; you are solely responsible for evaluating whether they fit your business and deploying them appropriately.
The AI Add-on subscription, when enabled on a Kit you have deployed, runs natural-language queries and generates reports against your operational data. Outputs from any AI feature can contain errors, omissions, or fabrications. Do not rely on AI-generated content for medical, legal, financial, safety-critical, or other high-stakes decisions without independent expert review. Quality scoring, smart alerts, and predictions are decision support, not decision authority.
7. Your content
The Hub does not host user-generated content of the kind you would find on a social network or community platform. There is no chat, no public posts, no comments, no marketplace listings authored by you. The only data you submit to the Hub is your account profile (display name, GitHub username), your saved Website Builder configurations, and the short text you type into AI features.
You retain ownership of the configurations you save in the Website Builder. By saving a configuration to your account, you grant LaunchKits a non-exclusive license to host and process that configuration solely to provide the Service to you. This license ends when you delete the configuration or close your account.
Any data you collect and store inside your own deployed Kit (your customers, invoices, bookings, etc.) lives entirely on your infrastructure. We have no access to it and nothing in these Terms grants us any right to it.
8. Acceptable use
You agree to comply with our Acceptable Use Policy. Violations may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account, revocation of access to the Hub and Website Builder, and (where the violation involves resale or redistribution of LaunchKits source code) termination of your paid-code license.
9. Pricing, billing, and refunds
Kits and modules are sold as one-time purchases. The price displayed at checkout is the full price; there are no recurring charges associated with a one-time code purchase. Once we deliver the GitHub repository and you accept the invitation, the purchase is fulfilled.
LaunchKits Pro is an optional monthly subscription that adds an update stream, monthly UI drops, hosted infrastructure options, and priority support. The AI Add-on is an optional monthly subscription that powers AI features against deployed Kits. Both are billed in advance through Lemon Squeezy. You authorize recurring charges until you cancel. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access through the end of the period you have already paid for. Cancelling Pro or the AI Add-on does not affect any code you have already purchased; that code remains yours.
We may change prices for new purchases or new subscribers at any time. Existing subscribers will receive at least 30 days' written notice before a price change takes effect on their plan, and may cancel before the change applies.
Refunds on code purchases are handled on a case-by-case basis. Because code is delivered immediately and is non-recoverable once a GitHub invitation is accepted, refunds are generally available only when there has been a material delivery failure on our side. Subscription fees are non-refundable for periods already started, but you are free to cancel at any time to prevent future charges.
10. Custom build service
The custom build service is a paid engagement under which LaunchKits assembles, customizes, or extends Kits and modules to your specification. Each custom build is governed by a separate scope or statement of work that takes precedence over these Terms where they conflict. Deliverables are licensed to you on the same terms as a regular paid Kit, except where we and you agree otherwise in writing.
We do not begin work on a custom build until the agreed deposit has been received. Estimated timelines are good-faith projections, not guaranteed dates. If your scope changes mid-engagement, we may revise the price and timeline accordingly.
11. Intellectual property
The LaunchKits brand, logo, design system, marketing copy, methodology, the Website Builder UI, and the underlying code of the Hub and the Website Builder are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. The license you receive when you buy a Kit or module is a license to use the code that ships in that purchased Kit, not a license to clone the Hub or build a competing marketplace.
Our free cores and free snippets are released under MIT and may be used and redistributed under the terms of that license. Trademarks (including the LaunchKits name and logo) are not transferred by any license; you may not pass off your fork as an official LaunchKits product without written permission.
12. Third-party providers
The Service relies on third-party infrastructure including Lemon Squeezy (billing), Supabase (auth and database), Resend (email), Vercel (hosting), GitHub (repository delivery), and Anthropic (AI features). Your use of the Service is also subject to those providers' terms and privacy policies. We do not control third-party providers and are not responsible for their acts or omissions. If a third-party provider experiences an outage, our ability to deliver the Service may be affected.
13. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE OR ANY CODE WE DELIVER WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT IT WILL MEET YOUR SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS.
14. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LAUNCHKITS'S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR (B) ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS. IN NO EVENT WILL WE BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, LOST PROFITS, LOST REVENUE, OR LOST DATA, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
15. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless LaunchKits and its affiliates from any claim, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, your violation of any third party's rights, or any business you operate using code you bought or built with LaunchKits.
16. Termination
You may close your account at any time by emailing privacy@launchkits.dev. Closing your account terminates your access to the Hub and the Website Builder. Code you have already received in your GitHub account remains yours under the license that was in force at delivery.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, the Acceptable Use Policy, or applicable law. In the case of repeat or material violations involving redistribution or resale of LaunchKits source code, we may also revoke the license granted under Section 4.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will notify you by email or in-app notice at least 14 days before it takes effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of an updated version constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
18. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Lucas County, Ohio, except where mandatory consumer protection law in your jurisdiction requires otherwise. Each party waives any objection to venue in those courts.
